Lowe Public Library has opened a Genealogy Room! The Genealogy Room at the Lowe Public Library will be open every Wednesday from Noon until 5 p.m.
Shinn descendents and History Buffs are now able to visit the 1778 Shinn Log House. Contact the Gillum House 304-592-0177 for appointment.

There is an exhibit of local art at the Bice-Ferguson Museum the month of Auggust.
Reservations for Pavilions at the Park will be taken at City Hall at 40 Main Street, Shinnston or online at www.shinnstonwv.com starting in January 2017. For more information call 304-592-5631.
The telephone was invented in 1876. The Bice-Ferguson Museum features an "anchor" exhibit of telephone equipment dating from the 1880s. There is also a new exhibit every month during the Museum season.
Shinnston Community Band rehearsals for the annual Christmas Concert begin in September. Watch Facebook for info on rehearsals!!. Plan to spend your Tuesday evenings with the Band at Lincoln High School Band Room at 7 PM. Call Bandland 1-304-622-1171 for information about joining the band or about our concerts. All instruments are welcome - so dust off your musical instrument and come join us.
